CEA Convention 2010 Fall Housing News

Once again, CEA members will be making their own room reservations.  Here is a map of the hotels and pricing.  Please do the following:

  • You MUST mention CEA when making the reservation to get these special negotiated rates.
  • The CEA Convention is actually on Thursday and Friday, October 21 and 22, 2010. You will probably need housing for Wednesday, October 20 and Thursday, October 21.

 Additional Information:

  • The dues for the 2010 CEA Convention are $80.00 per member.
  • The 2010 CEA Convention will begin at 8:30 a.m. on both days, Thursday, October 21 and Friday, October 22, in South Bend, IN.
  • There will not be a printed booklet distributed prior to the convention as there has been in the past. All of the convention information will be available online at www.ceateachers.org. You will receive a small, two page printed summary of sectionals upon exiting the Thursday Mass Meeting.
  • Calvin College will again offer a for credit workshop in connection with the 2010 CEA Convention. The workshop will tie in with the theme of Standing Firm, Moving Forward. More details can be found on Calvin’s website.  There will be a discount of 20% to schools who have three or more participants in the workshop.
  • SB-CEU’s will be offered at the 2010 CEA Convention
  • Gilead by Marilynne Robinson is the book that will be discussed at the CEA book club held during the convention.
  • The 2010 CEA Convention will have a one hour lunch period.
  • Most LOAVES AND FISHES will be held informally during the lunch period. See signs on the round tables on the lower levels to gather with those who share your teaching assignment for a chance to talk, meet one another, share ideas and exchange contact information. Preschool, art and music loaves and fishes will be held during sectional times.
